This policy distinguishes audio processed on your device from information handled when you visit the website, interact with advertising or affiliate links, or contact us.
Audio processing and microphone access
AudioTest uses browser audio APIs to generate playback signals and analyze microphone input locally. The audio tools do not upload test audio or microphone recordings to our servers. You can use the tools without an account.
Mic Test and Decibel Meter request microphone access when you start them. The browser controls that permission. Playback tools such as Stereo Test do not need microphone access.
- Mic Test displays input levels and microphone settings. If you choose to record a clip, it records audio into a local browser object for playback. The clip remains local; it is not uploaded by the tool.
- Decibel Meter analyzes the microphone stream to display an estimated level; it does not offer a recording function.
- You can stop a microphone tool and revoke permission through your browser's site settings. Declining permission leaves playback-based tools available.
Website usage data
The site includes Google Analytics and Vercel Web Analytics to measure website use. These services process usage information, such as page visits and browser or device information. Analytics integrations are separate from local audio processing.
Some tool controls send events such as starting, stopping or completing a sound check, opening a tool, and choosing a result option. These events include the tool, language and a fixed channel or result label; they do not include microphone audio, device names or free-form text.
Some affiliate cards also send impression and click events to Google Analytics, including the product, page, link, position, and language. These events describe website interactions and do not include microphone audio.
Google explains that sites using its services can send information such as the visited page URL and IP address and can use cookies. See how Google uses information from partner sites and Vercel Web Analytics privacy information. Local audio processing is not a promise that all website activity is anonymous.
Cookies and local storage
- Tone Generator and Frequency Sweep can save up to five named settings in browser local storage when you choose to save. These contain tool parameters, not microphone audio. You can delete saved settings in the tool. A shared settings link contains parameters in its URL fragment.
- Google Analytics and advertising providers may use cookies or similar technologies as described in their policies.
You can inspect, remove, or block cookies and local storage through your browser settings. Clearing them can reset site preferences.
Advertising and affiliate links
The site includes Google AdSense integration. When advertising is enabled and served, third-party vendors, including Google, may use cookies to serve ads based on visits to this or other websites. Google's advertising cookies allow it and its partners to personalize and measure advertising.

Affiliate links lead to third-party stores. If you follow one, the destination receives a request from your browser and handles your visit under its own privacy policy. We may earn a commission if you purchase through an affiliate link.
Hosting and contact messages
Vercel hosts this website and handles network requests and operational data. Its handling of information is described in Vercel's privacy policy.
If you email us through the contact page, your email address and anything you include in the message are provided to us and the email services involved. Do not include a microphone recording or other sensitive material unless you intend to share it.
Security and your controls
Local audio processing reduces the need to transfer audio, but does not guarantee that a device, browser, or online service is free of security risks. Children's privacy
AudioTest is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
